Shymkent International Airport's New Terminal "A" Set for Air Astana and FlyArystan Launch on May 27

Following its inauguration on December 25, 2024, Shymkent's modern Terminal A will welcome operations from Air Astana and FlyArystan, starting on May 27. Air Astana's commencement flight from the new terminal will depart for Doha, while FlyArystan's inaugural takeoff will be flight FS7108, bound for Almaty at 14:50.

The 39,000 square-meter terminal, designed to handle 2,000 passengers per hour, recently welcomed an expansion of services, as the Civil Aviation Committee announced new direct flights to Germany, Hungary, China, South Korea, and Egypt, all set to launch on May 26. Boeing 737 aircraft are scheduled to operate on the following routes:

  • Munich, with flights starting May 27 (Tuesdays and Thursdays);

  • Xi'an, starting July 2 (Wednesdays and Saturdays);
  • Urumqi, with flights set to take off starting July 4 (Tuesdays and Fridays).

In addition, it's worth noting that starting late May 2025, Shymkent Airport has introduced direct flights to major cities in Europe and Asia, including Shanghai, Seoul, Cairo, Munich, and Budapest. These new routes form part of the airport's broader strategy to strengthen its international connectivity.
