Active disability benefits, totaling 1.45 million dinars, have been suspended for inactive cases.
The Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities has announced the temporary suspension of files for 628 non-respondents, as part of ongoing update procedures. This decision was made after exhausting all communication channels, including SMS and the "Sahel" app, during a 60-day grace period.
According to Dr. Dalal Al-Othman, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, the suspension is due to the failure of beneficiaries to update their data. The authority communicated with beneficiaries repeatedly during the grace period, but the remaining 628 cases did not respond.
The suspension of files has resulted in significant savings. Each month, the authority saves 120,497 dinars, amounting to a total of 1,445,964 dinars annually, until the review and update process is completed.
Out of the 826 cases affected by the suspension, 198 were reviewed at the authority's headquarters. The suspended files did not submit the necessary documents to the relevant medical committees.
Dr. Al-Othman stated that the suspension of files is a temporary measure until the update procedures are completed. The authority is committed to ensuring that all beneficiaries have up-to-date information.
The authority encourages all beneficiaries to update their information promptly to avoid any inconvenience. The update procedures are still ongoing, and the authority is ready to assist beneficiaries in any way possible.
This news was reported by Al Anba newspaper. The search results do not provide information on which organization ordered the temporary suspension of files of disabled persons who did not update their data, nor the duration of this suspension. However, the authority assures that the suspension is a necessary step towards maintaining accurate records and providing efficient services to all beneficiaries.
