Historically, Tim Allen has had success in the sitcom genre with shows like Home Improvement and Last Man Standing. On the other hand, Kat Dennings has made a name for herself in comedy, thanks to 2 Broke Girls. The two veterans of network comedy are joining forces for ABC's upcoming series, Shifting Gears. The story revolves around Matt (Tim Allen), the widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop, who gets an unexpected and challenging surprise when his estranged daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings), and her teenage kids move in with him.
The cast of Shifting Gears includes Seann William Scott, Daryl Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, Barrett Margolis, and Jenna Elman (Dharma & Greg) in a recurring role as Eve Drake.
