4iG SDT to Invest $200M in Axiom Space, Securing Stake and Orbital Data Center Role

4iG SDT has signed a non-binding commitment letter with Axiom Space, paving the way for a potential $100 million capital increase. This move could secure 4iG SDT an equity stake in Axiom Space and open doors to the global space marketplace.

The agreement comes as Axiom Space sends the second Hungarian astronaut, Tibor Kapu, to space under the HUNOR programme. Meanwhile, 4iG SDT's CEO István Sárhegyi has registered 4iG as a potential strategic investor for Axiom's Orbital Data Center programme. The company has signed an MoU for a total investment of $200 million, with $100 million earmarked for Axiom Space and the same amount for the ODC programme.

The ODC programme aims to establish a next-generation data center in orbit for processing and storing space data. The agreement with Axiom Space strengthens US-Hungarian technological ties and positions Hungary as an active participant in the global space economy. An additional USD 100 million framework has been defined for the next five years to direct the long-term cooperation between 4iG SDT and Axiom Space.

The agreement marks a significant milestone in US-Hungarian relations, bolstering economic and technological cooperation. It provides Hungary with an opportunity to secure a long-term role in orbital data center programmes and space-based data processing and storage. 4iG SDT may become Axiom Space's first European partner in the Orbital Data Center programme, gaining access to Axiom's global space marketplace.
